Kathryn Savery: Meet the Artists
My work is inspired by the sea and its movement and energy. The sea is in constant motion with the changing tides and the changing light, which at one moment causes its surface to reflect the sun and glisten bright blue or green or the next when there is a stormy sky can be dark and foreboding. I am also inspired by the forms that live in or near the sea such as the shells or the weathered rock forms and in my work attempt to capture some of the shapes that I see. The sea is but one part of our living world which we are connected to and are affected by and it influences me in my work.
